House League Update

Dear House League Families,


Welcome to the 2026 House League season, we’re excited to welcome back our returning players as well as our new recruits! This email has some critical information on it for each age group. All questions can be directed to: houseleague@barrieminorlacrosse.com


The season will kick off on April 27th at Peggy Hill Community Centre and conclude on June 29th for all age groups. For the most part, we are always at Peggy Hill with some exceptions where the city has other events and we may have to move to East Bayfield. See below for details in the age specific questions.


We are an entirely volunteer run organization and it’s critical that we have parent helpers at all age groups. If you can help out, we’re happy to have you, please let houseleague@barrieminorlacrosse.com know. No lacrosse experience is necessary, just a good attitude and a desire to make everyone’s season go smoothly.


U5 – Development (2022 & 2023)


The U5 Development group will run on Monday nights from 5:10pm to 5:50pm. Helmet, Gloves and Lacrosse stick are the only required equipment. More details will be sent but we do need several parent volunteers to help this session run smoothly. Please remember that you must stay in the arena and be available for bathroom breaks and to get your child if they try and leave the playing surface. Note there are no Wednesday sessions.


We’ll see our U5 players on April 27th!



U7 – Paperweight (2020 & 2021)


A reminder that all U7 Paperweight players are invited to try out for our U7 Rep/Select team on April 14th at 6:00pm. Players who are selected to play on this team will have their own practice and game times.


For those not on the Select team, you will be starting on Monday April 27th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. We’ll be on the floor each Monday and Wednesday until June 29th. On April 29th, this program will be run at East Bayfield Arena.


The U7 program will initially run “Clinic Style” without set teams. Alternating between games and drills. As the season progresses, we’ll more to bigger games. There are no pre-set teams at the start of the season. Again, we are in need of assistant coaches on the floor for this program to run smoothly. No lacrosse experience required, just bring a good attitude and be willing to help! We are entirely volunteer driven, so this is critical to a successful season.



U9 (2018 & 2019)


For the U9 division, you will be starting on Monday April 27th from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. We’ll be on the floor each Monday and Wednesday until June 29th. On April 29th, this program will be run at East Bayfield Arena.


The U9 program will initially run “Clinic Style” without set teams so we can evaluate and teach skills. As the season progresses, we’ll more to bigger games and set teams. Again, we are in need of assistant coaches on the floor for this program to run smoothly. No lacrosse experience required, just bring a good attitude and be willing to help! We are entirely volunteer driven, so this is critical to a successful season.
